Current Position

The Director for Training is responsible for coordinating and providing financial and financial systems training opportunities both within the Department of Finance and within the medical center. Activities include presenting financial seminars for medical center staff as well as providing training materials, orientation, and various types of management and financial training for the Department of Finance.

In addition to the her current role, Debora is also a part-time faculty member for the School of Nursing, where she teaches a health-care focused financial management course to graduate students working toward their Health Systems Management degree.

Education

• Accounting Manager: Coordinated the VUH/TVC budget; completed the VUMC cost report (4 yrs)
• Accountant: Provided financial accounting for the VUMC Nursing School and Medical Center support departments (2 yrs)
• Corporate Funds Manager: Worked in the corporate treasurer's office of a major bank holding company; invested corporate funds (5 yrs)
  
• Teacher: Taught middle school English, speech, music; also taught high school art and French (7 yrs)

Nanette Gould - Consultant/Trainer for Finance and Systems

Graduated 1987 from U.S. International University with a B.S. in Psychology

• Over 12 years of experience conducting various training programs
• Formally trained users of desktop software beginning in 1998

Prior to joining the Vanderbilt staff earlier this year, Nanette had her own software consulting business in which she conducted training seminars and provided database development. Her clients included a variety of small companies, Nissan, and various Vanderbilt departments.

In her role as consultant/trainer for the Department of Finance, she is responsible for training of Finance and hospital staff on the TSI/Eclipsys cost accounting system and will be involved in many different aspects of the training department programs.
