Putting a Class
on the Training Registration Site
Q. If I am
planning a class, can I put my class out on the training registration
site?
A. Yes.
To get your class on the registration site, e-mail the following information
to Angela Purinton. Red indicates the type of information that you need to provide for the entire course. Green indicates the type of information we need for each class scheduled. Following that, we've provided an explanation in blue.
- Course Name: Here, we can put the Course Title.
- Short Description: This should be a brief (10 words max) description of the content, since this is the explanation that shows up on the registration course list. If your class is hidden from the list, this field is not necessary at all.
- Long Description: This should be a 50-100 word description of the course content.
- Materials Required: self-explanatory
- Prerequisites: self-explanatory
- Duration: How long will the class last? 2 hours? 90 minutes?
- Contact name and phone: When people have questions about the class, who should they call for more information?
- Administrator VUNet ID: The person who will be coordinating attendance reports and/or class scheduling needs to give us an ID if different from the class Instructor(s).
- Max. # of Students/Class: This number will be how many are able to register through our website. If only 5 seats are available, then we need to put “5” in this field.
- Instructor Name: Who will be teaching each class?
- Instructor VUNet ID: We MUST have an ID here, if the instructor is from outside Vanderbilt, then we can use the ID of the contact person who will be monitoring the registration.
- Day/Date: This information serves two purposes: A) the date that will be entered into the field for notification and B) the day and date text that will be typed into a separate field for the students to see.
- Time: This will be the time the class begins (for notification), and the time text you wish students to see when they register.
- Location: Room number and Building name for each session.
