What We Do:
The VMG Coding & Reconciliation Team Office supports the overall mission of VUMC
by performing professional coding and charge entry services and providing physician
and staff education to promote complete, accurate, and consistent reimbursement
for services rendered. We strive for excellence of service through customer relations,
innovative technological solutions, and improved operational processes, while maintaining
the utmost standards of conduct.
We also provide professional charge entry services that include daily posting,
monitoring and research of accounts by working closely with other Vanderbilt departments
to ensure correct and timely filing of our electronic and paper claims and to minimize
claims denials.
We provide complete, accurate, and consistent coding and charge entry for the professional
and technical services in the Department of Emergency Medicine and Cardiology; professional
services for the Departments of Internal Medicine and Neurology, including all subspecialties
within each division; professional services for the Department of Pediatrics, the
Psychiatric Hospital at Vanderbilt, the Vanderbilt Stallworth Rehabilitation Hospital,
including all subspecialties within each division; and professional services of
the Departments of Cardiac/Thoracic, General Neurosurgery, Transplant, Vascular,
OB/GYN, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Otolaryngology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery,
Trauma, and Urology Divisions, including all subspecialties within each division.
