We Do: Posting of payments and contractual adjustments.
We are currently processing Blue Cross and Medicare through an Electronic File. We are hoping to start processing Cigna, Vanderbilt Preferred, Aetna and United sometime in the near future.
Our area does productivity standards and has been able to increase our departmental transactions from 45 transactions per hour for the group to 91 per hour. We have some staff members who post more than 100 transactions per hour. We post over 250,000 transactions per month, half of which are done electronically and the remainder are a manual process. This improvement has helped us to reduce our overtime and still maintain the appropriate turn-around time of being able to post monies within two days of receipt.
